In this 122-credit Facilities Management undergraduate degree program, coursework focuses on building technology and environmental stewardship, business management, cultural diversity, design thinking, leadership and collaboration, professional communication, and professional ethics. You’ll gain hands-on experience in a thriving profession that integrates skill sets in architecture, building systems and technology to ensure comprehensive and efficient operation of buildings, infrastructure, landscapes and real estate.
With an integrative curriculum that spans Tyler and the rest of Temple University, including the Fox School of Business, you’ll take courses in architectural history, building technology, business, contracts, human resource management, real estate and more to prepare you for leadership in this field.
As a Facilities Management Major, you’ll receive a foundational education in architecture before taking classes in subjects related to facilities management. The facilities management coursework takes place in Tyler’s Facilities Management Lab, conceived as a workplace solutions space where you’ll simulate real-world interdisciplinary collaboration and implement lessons learned through facility design and installation projects. You’ll have the opportunity to engage with professionals across Philadelphia and the surrounding region, both in the classroom and during site visits, building a strong professional network.
