The search for complex research answers often requires collaboration among numerous disciplines. At Temple, we encourage interdisciplinary research through steering committees and themed research exchanges. These exchanges bring together a broad cross-section of faculty from across the university to learn about the interests and activities connected with the theme of the exchange.
The goals of the exchanges include
- The production of concept papers for new research activities that can be undertaken by interdisciplinary teams
- An increase in proposals for external funding
- The development of new programs for graduate training that can strengthen interdisciplinary research
In addition to committees and research exchanges, we have established working groups that focus on specific topics with the aim of applying for external grants and contracts. We also sponsor one-time conferences and symposium events that showcase the excellence of our interdisciplinary research, performance and scholarship. Learn more about Temple's research initiatives.
