Temple University School of Medicine Basic Science Departments

Basic Science Departments

The School of Medicine has seven basic science departments, each with major responsibilities for teaching and research. Approximately 100 faculty provide fundamental instruction for both professional and graduate students and for postdoctoral fellows. Their intense commitment to this activity is reflected in the uniformly high ratings provided by the students, and their continuing observation that the faculty care about the academic well-being and progress of each and every one of them. In addition, faculty in each department engage in extramurally-funded research involving nearly every body system, in a continuing quest to understand human form and function in both normal and disease states.
