Visiting Students

Temple University School of Medicine (TUSM) welcomes students for clinical rotation from LCME and AOA-accredited medical schools. All assignments are made on a space-available basis. Please review the Course Catalog for the listing of available clerkship rotations. Students wishing to apply for rotations at Temple University Hospital must be in their fourth or final year of medical school and must have completed all core clerkships. Applicants should select from the following three categories:

    1. Please be informed that incomplete applications will not be reviewed and all required documents must be uploaded onto VSAS.
    2. All inquiries should be submitted via email to medsched@temple.edu and allow 72 hours for a response. Before submitting any inquiries please review “Frequently Asked Questions”.
    3. Due to the high volume of requests, TUSM anticipates scheduling students two months prior to the start of their selected rotation.
  • Non-VSAS Applicants. Students from medical schools that do not participate in the VSAS application process will be required to download the application documents and mail the completed applications to the address listed below.
  • International Students. TUSM only accepts international students from its international affiliates. Eligible international students wishing to apply should submit their application at least five months prior to the start of the course elective. Click here for block rotation dates. All international student applications must include:
    1. Proof of English proficiency - TOEFL Scores or letter from the Dean stating English proficiency.
    2. Photo ID together with a copy of the student’s passport.
    3. Proof of personal and malpractice insurance coverage for the duration of the students visit to TUSM.
    4. Proof of Blood-borne and Air-borne Pathogens Training.
    5. Please allow 3 to 4 weeks to acknowledge receipt of your application. TUSM anticipates scheduling students two months prior to the start of their rotation.
    6. Visa letters are issued only upon request.
    7. International students are required to download application documents and mail completed applications to the address listed below.
