Temple University School of Medicine Ranked Among Top Medical Schools in the Nation by U.S. News & World Report
March 11, 2014
Temple University School of Medicine (TUSM) is once again listed as one of the top research-oriented medical schools in the nation in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Graduate Schools 2015 rankings.
Temple had the second-highest ranking of all medical schools in Philadelphia and the third-highest in the state. The U.S. News rankings are based on a multifactorial assessment of 128 allopathic and 25 osteopathic medical schools across the United States.
TUSM earned its ranking by exhibiting excellence in a number of measures, including student admission selectivity, reputation among peer institutions and residency directors, and research activity. The School attracted nearly $91 million in National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants in 2013, an average of $161,800 per faculty member.
“Temple University School of Medicine is a leader in scientific discovery,” said Larry R. Kaiser, MD, FACS, Dean of the School of Medicine and Temple Health CEO. “In the past decade, our scientists have amassed findings that hold great promise for improving treatment for heart disease, cancer, and other conditions that take a great toll on society.”
