Temple University's Student Affairs mission is to engage, develop, and retain students by embracing a firm commitment to building stronger learners, thinkers, doers, and leaders in our dynamic communities - locally, nationally, and world-wide. The Division embraces a holistic approach in working with and empowering Temple students personally, academically and professionally, both inside and outside the classroom. Throughout the Division, we identify and pursue opportunities to serve Temple by encouraging student involvement and participation in co-curricular activities; providing supportive services, advocacy, and education to students, their families, faculty, and staff; and welcoming our alumni.
Dean of Students
The Dean of Students serves as an advocate for all students. The Dean of Students' Office includes the Dean of Students / Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, the Senior Associate Dean of Students, Associate Dean of Students, and the Assistant Dean of Students.
The Department of Campus Recreation provides the university community with quality-oriented leisure time opportunities in a safe environment. These sport-related activities may take many forms, such as intramurals, sport clubs, informal recreation, special events, aquatics, group fitness, adapted recreation or student staff development. It is hoped that those individuals participating in Campus Recreation programs will gain a full appreciation of the physiological, psychological and social value of active recreation and participation; as well as a better sense of their own ability to function productively in both a cooperative and competitive environment.
Disability Resources & Services
Disability Resources & Services (DRS) supports Temple University students with disabilities in accessing the multitude of opportunities and services available to them through the University. A department within the Division of Student Affairs, we promote a campus environment in which accommodating students with disabilities is a natural extension of the University's vision to "provide access to superior education for committed and capable students of all backgrounds."
Student Activities enhances the student experience by developing and empowering students, creating opportunities for meaningful interpersonal relationships, supporting student organizations, and providing fun, engaging programs for the diverse campus community.
Student Center Operations
Student Center Operations enhances the Temple community through exceptional facility and program management. Our buildings serve as the hub of activities and as the "living room" of the campus, providing safe, inviting spaces for events, study and socialization. Employment and involvement opportunities in our buildings contribute to student learning outside the classroom. We provide programmatic support to student organizations, university departments and the community which creates an atmosphere promoting engagement and enriches campus life.
