Certificate Program in Music Performance
Enhance your performance abilities across various creative mediums with the Certificate Program in Music Performance in Temple’s Boyer College of Music and Dance. This certificate program, geared toward Music Technology majors, is designed to formally add performance electives to the academic experience and those performances are officially recorded on university transcripts. Graduates of the program will be equipped with the skills and knowledge base for a career in the music industry, both on and off the stage.
Students pursuing the Music Performance Certificate will not only experience performing for a live audience but will improve their musicianship and deepen their understanding of how music is created, understood and performed from both a theoretical and technological standpoint.
In this 12-credit program you will
-
attend weekly in-studio practice assessments and demonstrate expertise in your chosen performance medium;
-
perform and collaborate with fellow ensemble members during rehearsals and recitals;
-
create an industry-standard electronic press kit (EPK) and biography; and
-
gain networking opportunities through interactions with industry professionals.
The Music Performance Certificate culminates with a recital at the end of the semester. This program is only available to undergraduates majoring in music technology who have completed 15 credits at Temple University.
