The Boyer College of Music and Dance offers students unique opportunities to get involved in not only the music community here on Temple’s campus, but also in Philadelphia's thriving music scene. You can meet professionals who work in music, become part of community music organizations, and pursue nonacademic opportunities that complement your personal and career goals.
Students have access to
- community ensembles;
- The Arts & Quality of Life Research Center, which offers programs aimed at enhancing the lives of disadvantaged members of the community; and
- the Temple Music Preparatory Division, which provides music and dance instruction to the Philadelphia Community.

The comprehensive music education this program provides prepares students for doctoral studies, as well as an array of careers in the music industry and in academia. Music History MM graduates often pursue careers in some of the following positions.
